Applied behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science-based intervention directed at understanding and changing behavior. ABA is used to increase helpful behaviors and decrease harmful or maladaptive behaviors. Some examples of how ABA is used to promote more adaptive behaviors include: increasing communication, building adaptive skills such as independent eating, improving social skills, among other behaviors. ABA is used with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities. It is usually adapted to meet the needs of each unique child.

Occupational therapy can be helpful in strengthening specific skills your child may have not yet mastered. Occupational therapists (OT) work with children with disabilities to improve a wide variety of skills that require the use of fine motor, gross motor, and sensory processing skills. For example, an OT may work with your child to master how to use zippers or buttons, catching and throwing balls, processing sensory information and a variety of other behaviors.

Our team, led by a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA), are ready to assist with potty training for kids of all abilities.
Our potty training program can be tailored to your child’s specific needs, but typically consists of three eight-hour training days, depending on the readiness of the child and family needs.

Feeding therapy can be helpful in developing the skills needed for safe, successful, and enjoyable eating. Occupational therapists (OTs) work with children who may have difficulties with chewing, swallowing, trying new foods, using utensils, or tolerating different food textures. For example, an OT may help your child improve oral motor skills, increase acceptance of new foods, develop self-feeding skills, process sensory information related to eating, and build confidence during mealtimes.
